After the first manned trip to Venus returns to Earth, the enemy crash lands from the Mediterranean near a small fishing village. The locals manage to save the astronauts Colonel Calder, the mission commander. A boy recovers what turns out for a specimen of an alien animal. Growing at an excellent speed, it succeeds to flee and threatens the city of Rome.
