Harry Mitchell is a la manufacturer whose wife is running for city council. His life is turned upside down after he is confronted by three blackmailers along with his mistress with a video tape of him and require $100,000. Fearing that the story will hurt his wife effort if he goes to the police, Harry pretends that he'll pay the men, but does not follow through.
