A vendingmachine robbery by small time thief and drug addict Bobbie (Vincent Kartheiser) goes badly awry, along with his buddies contact streetwise thief and part time druggie Mel (James Woods) to patch him up.Recognizing that a kindred spirit, Mel befriends Bobbie along with his girlfriend Rosie (Natasha Gregson Wagner)and inviting them to join him along with his longsuffering girlfriend Sid (Melanie Griffith) to a medication robbery which should set them up for lifetime. The seemingly straightforward vandalism is a fantastic success, however, the selling of these drugs subsequently fails badly, also Mel and Bobbie have been shot.The four carry refuge with the Reverend, that charges them 1 / 2 their haul against the robbery to take care of them. At a desperate effort Mel calls for the crew in a ill-advised jewellery robbery, and they become caught up in a web of violence that spirals out of control.
