Director Mario Van Peebles simplifies the complex production of his father Melvin's classic 1971 film,"Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" Playing with his father in the movie, Van Peebles offers an unapologetic account of Melvin's brash and sometimes deceptive conduct on the collection of the movie, including questionable antics such as writing bad checks, tricking a neighborhood fire department and allowing his son, Mario, to take racy sex scenes at the age of 11.
