Stanley is infatuated with Margaret. He sells his soul for 7 wishes, which Stanley uses to try and make Margaret their first being an intellectual, and a rock star, then being a wealthy industrialist and matches George Spiggott AKA that the devil. He becomes even aware of how empty his life have been and how much more he's got to endure as each fails.
