A town--at which everybody else appears to be named Johnson--stands in the form of the railroad. In order to catch their land, robber baron Hedley Lemar sends his henchmen to produce life. After the sheriff is killed, the town demands a new sheriff by the Governor, therefore Hedley convinces him to send the town the first black sheriff in the west.
