Throughout the Boer War, three lieutenants are on trial for shooting Boer prisoners. They are used as scapegoats by the General Staff, that expects to distance themselves from the irregular techniques of the warfare though they acted under orders. The trial does not advance expected by the General Staff, as the defence sets up a strong fight inside the court.
