SUMMARY
From casting issues to his own steadfast unwillingness to use special effects, German filmmaker Werner Herzog's 1982 epic "Fitzcarraldo" suffers major difficulties. After reshooting much of the film due to a new lead actor, his crew must manually haul an antique steamboat over a mountain. Herzog tries to achieve his vision, promising to finish the film even if it means his demise.
