Fifty decades of warfare between Europa and the Great Eastern Federation - now united as Eurasia - took their toll. As a consequence of using chemical, biological and atomic weapons, as much of Earth is now uninhabitable and individuals have become victim to new diseases. Professor Azuma's"neo-cell" job, that is assumed to function as the response to humanity's hardships, becomes a nightmare come true when mutants spawned out of the experiment escape and also declare war on the human race. Azuma's son Tetsuya, who was killed during the warfare, is reborn in to the Casshern as humanity's last hope against the mutant threat. This movie centered on a 1973 of the same name.
