Cheng Pei-pei plays with a fighter-for-hire who is contracted by the government to retrieve the governor's blessed son, Golden Swallow. Holding him is really a set of rebels who are currently demanding their leader be discharged in exchange for the caught son from prison. After a brief encounter with the group at a local restaurant, then Golden Swallow is joined by an inebriated wanderer Drunken Cat (Yueh Hua) who aids her in her assignment.
