Garvey operates a pawnshop in San Francisco. Dillard, Turtle, and Weslake, his unemployed and criminal friends, join forces with Boardwalk, a local pimp, to rob Garvey's shop while the owner is away. Dillard falls in love with a Hispanic woman, the sister of a friend, while the elaborate planning is underway. Boardwalk is also assigned to investigate a local apartment, where he meets and falls in love with the maid. Among all of the romantic shenanigans, Weslake devises a burglary scheme, which is carried out by the impromptu gang.
