After being thrown away of medical college for moral infractions, Dr. Peter Blood returns home to a little Cornish town, where he establishes a research laboratory in a private cavern. There, he attempts to restore the dead, utilizing kidnapped people-- who he deems unworthy of life-- for their body components, especially, their hearts.
