The movie depicts a day in the life of a young artist named Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquiat is attempting to earn money so that he can move back into the flat from which he was evicted. As he makes his way around the city carrying a painting that he hopes to sell, he runs across pals, into whose lives (and acts) we are given a glimpse.
