Eva has recently married an older gentleman, only to realize that he is concerned with order and has little tolerance for sensuality. Despondent, she leaves him and returns to her father's home. She meets a young man while bathing at the lake one day, and they fall in love. The husband is overcome with sadness over the loss of his young bride, Eva, and fate brings him together with Eva's young lover.
