A Jewish boy separated from his family from the morning of WWII presents as a orphan and is taken in to the heart of the Nazi world as a'war hero' and sooner or later becomes a Hitler Youth. It is based upon an actual narrative, although improbabilities and happenstance have been cornerstones of the film.
