The story of this"Oms", creatures kept as domesticated pets by an alien race of reptiles called"Draags." The story occurs on the Draags' planet Ygam an Om called Terr, from infancy to adulthood. He begins to perform an Om revolt -- and manages to escape enslavement out of the Draag learning device employed to educate the savage Oms.
