Merle Hammond (Michael McKean), a former lawyer, uses corrupt approaches and persuading a jury to acquit his client who is really a killer. Gwen (Annette O'Toole), the murdered victim's sister, knows the real facts and plots revenge against the lawyer. Out of despair, she kidnaps the attorney in a effort to make him admit to his tactics.
