He was reported deceased in a plane crash just after Lisa (Loren) announced that she was divorcing her immature, violent, but easygoing husband Robert (Perkins). Although she realizes it's a horrible idea, he persuades her to collect on his life insurance, even though she is aware of the risks. To make matters worse, Lisa has to deal with an aggressive suitor (Young), Robert's resentment, and her own sense of shame.
