U.S. Navy pilot Lt. Jake Grafton and his bombardier friend, Lt. Cmdr. Virgil Cole, are two soldiers inserted in the Vietnam War growing annoyed by the military's limitations on their own missions. Despite the best efforts of these commanding officer, Cmdr. Frank Camparelli, to reengage themthis disillusioned pair opt to choose the war effort in their own hands with an explosive battle program which could well get them court martialed.
