In 1969 he made, with Sven Nykvist as cinematographer, The Fårö Paper, a movie that ended with an instead pessimist view of the island's future. One of the scenes in the movie is of a school-bus and its young passengers. To these and to the truths 10 years later on Bergman returns in the long docudrama Fårö Document 1979.
