Radio Funny-man Adrian Cronauer is sent to Vietnam to create a comedy straight back in to the lives of the soldiers. After setting up shop, Cronauer joys the G.I.s however reaches his superior officer, Sergeant Major Dickerson, together along with his irreverent take on the war. Cronauer pursues a romance with a Vietnamese girl named, while Dickerson tries to censor Cronauer's broadcasts.
