Singing sailor Hannes, who now delights the crowd at St. Pauli's Hippodrome after years at sea, assures his dying brother that he will certainly take care of his ex-girlfriend Gisa. Taking Gisa to Hamburg to live with him, Hannes swiftly loves her, but soon has to encounter Gisa's love for another guy, Willem.
