Hannibal now lives happily in Italy, disguised as an art scholar, after years of eluding the authorities. When he is identified, he causes more trouble, killing a few deserving people in the process. He travels to America in order to contact now-disgraced FBI Agent Clarice Starling, who is facing the wrath of a nasty FBI competitor as well as the media.
