A man who dislikes steady job surroundings returns home after an extended absence to discover that his wife has divorced him and plans to remarry. He returns home to confront her, aided by the daughter, who loves him despite his wandering ways. The pair discovers they still have affections for one another but must decide how to best deal with the contradictions inherent in their respective lifestyles.
