Le Ly resides in a tiny Vietnamese village whose serenity is destroyed if war breaks out. Caught between the Viet Cong and the South Vietnamese military the village is destroyed. Le Ly resolves to flee after being raped and brutalized. She leaves to your city, surviving, although living situations that are desperate. Finally she meets a U.S. Marine called Steve Butler who treats her liberally and informs her he would like to be married -- maybe into her.
