David Callaway tries to patch together his entire life in the wake of the suicide of his wife and was left to raise his daughter. David is at first amused to realize that Emily has created an imaginary friend called'Charlie', but it isn't long before'Charlie' develops a sinister and violent side, also since David struggles with his daughter's growing emotional issues, he comes into the frightening realisation that'Charlie' isn't just a figment of Emily's imagination.
