Jeff Warren, a Korean War vet arriving to his railroad engineer's endeavor, boards at your house of coworker Alec Simmons and is charmed by Alec daughter. He's attracted immediately the wife of railroad manager, to Vicki Buckley Carl Buckley, an alcoholic wife beater using a hair trigger temper and penchant for violence that was explosive. Jeff becomes drawn to some sordid affair by the seductive Vicki. He begs her to intervene together with John Owens, a rich and powerful business man whose influence can get him reinstated, after Buckley is terminated for insubordination.
