Bob Ford assassinates his best friend Jesse James in order to secure a pardon that will enable him to marry Cynthy. Throughout town, the guilt-stricken Ford is met with ridicule and open mockery. He moves to Colorado to try his hand at prospecting with the hopes of marrying Cynthy.
