Detective Paul Ford intervenes when he learns that his partner, Frank, is assaulting his wife Eve. Frank takes vengeance on Paul and frames him for her death after Paul saves Eve from Frank's abuse. Paul is on the run from his fellow officers, and Eve is also on the run from her husband, so the two end up fleeing into a passionate love affair together.
