During his treatment of destitute ex-con Janet Healy, widow of a bank robber who has gone missing, the youthful Dr. Kildare becomes enamored with her. Later, in a pub back room, she assists Kildare in stitching up gangster Hanlon. In pursuit of Janet, Kildare enlists the assistance of Hanlon; the gangster's solution is, unsurprisingly, lethal force.
