SUMMARY
Joan of Arc's life was represented by this statue. At the beginning of the play, Jeanne (Joan) has already left Domremy, and she is attempting to persuade a captain to accompany her to the Dauphin. It comes to an end during Jeanne's first combat, which takes place at Orleans. During this time, Jeanne is depicted as more of a warrior than a saint (all cliches are avoided), with her only source of strength being her faith.
