Noriko is absolutely satisfied living at home with her father, Shukichi, and does not have any plans to marry -- which is, before her aunt Masa convinces Shukichi that unless he marries off his 27-year-old daughter soon, she'll probably remain alone for the remainder of her life. Shukichi is made to fool his daughter and sacrifice his or her own happiness to do what he thinks is appropriate, when Noriko interrupts Masa's match making.
