A teenage pianist and a French archaeologist in charge of overseeing a century-long construction project to tunnel beneath the Andes mountain range become friends with a Scottish orchid farmer who is in Colombia to see her sick sister. She can't sleep because of the louder bangs that keep disturbing her at night.
