In Disney's take on the Alexander Dumas story, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy want simply to do courageous actions with respect to their queen (Minnie Mouse), but they are daunted by the mind Musketeer, Pete. Pete wishes to do away with the queen, therefore he appoints his bumbling friends and Mickey as guardians to Minnie, believing this kind of move will ensure his scheme's success. The score features songs based on familiar melodies.
