Genial Monsieur Hulot loves his top-floor flat and can't fathom why his sister's family has moved to the suburbs. Their house is an amazing nightmare, which Hulot only visits to the sake of concealing away his rambunctious young nephew. The sister of hulot, nevertheless, desires to win to her new way of life, and conspires to set him up with occupation and a partner.
