When Cain is freed from jail after 18 years, he plans to become a rancher and never handle a pistol again. But his past haunts him; not only will no one hire him, but certain crooks want to retaliate against him. As a result, he must accept Ruffalo's invitation to appear in his traveling shooting show as "Killer Cain." Even Ruffalo's youthful aide Billy, who hasn't shot in 18 years, shoots better than Cain.
