Terry Malloy dreams about being a prize fighter, while glancing his pigeons and running errands in the temptations for Johnny Friendly, the supervisor of this marriage. Terry witnesses a murder from 2 of Johnny's thugs, and after meets the deceased man's sister and feels responsible. He introduces him Father Barry, who tries to force him to give advice for those courts who will smash against the dock racketeers.
