Taeko is 27 yrs of age, unmarried, and it's 1982, and it has lived her whole existence in Tokyo. She decides to visit her family and also memories flooding back of her years: the Cuban stirrings of romance, the onset of puberty, and also the temptations of boys and math time, as the train travels throughout night. At the station she is met by farmer Toshio, and also the encounters with him begin to reconnect her to longings that were abandoned. In lyrical switches between the present and the past, Taeko contemplates her life's arc, and also wonders if she's has been true to the dreams of her childhood self.
