Ben Stiller plays comedy writer Jerry Stahl, whose 6000-a-week heroin dependency had him doing during TV script conferences and taking his infant daughter along on his drug runs. Departing detox, memories are explored by Stahl together with survivor Kitty, who listens patiently to the flashback of Stahl. Women in Stahl's lifetime are his British wife Sandra and his agent Vola.
