Upon receiving reports of lost persons in Fort Spencer, a remote Army outpost on the Western frontier, Capt. John Boyd investigates. After coming to his new article, Boyd along with his regiment aid a injured frontiersman who recounts a dreadful tale of a wagon train murdered by its purported guide -- a vicious U.S. Army colonel gone awry.
