Cashier and artist Christopher Cross is definitely smitten with the Kitty March. Kitty plays together, but she is really thinking about Johnny, a crook. After Kitty and Dan learn that art dealers are considering Chris' work, they con him into letting Kitty take credit for those paintings. Cross allows it because he is deeply in love with Kitty, but his love will let her get away with much.
