He believes pressure to hide the simple fact that he is Jewish from his professors and classmates, fearing they may be anti-Semitic After David Greene receives a football scholarship to a prestigious prep school in the 1950s. He becomes the big man on campus thanks to his own football expertise, however his worst fears are realized and his friends turn him with threats and ridicule when his heritage is discovered.
