Following the conclusion of the war, Matt Gordon makes his way back to Singapore with the intention of recovering the stolen pearls, which are worth a fortune. After he has arrived, he begins to remember in the form of a flashback about his alluring prewar fiancée, Linda, and how she vanished during the Japanese onslaught. But now Linda has reemerged...claiming to have no memory of her past life and being married to a wealthy planter named Van Leyden. While everything is going on, the nefarious fence Mauribus is hatching a plan to steal Matt's pearls.
