The Illumidus Empire has conquered Earth after a long, bloody conflict. Harlock, an Earth fleet captain, crashes his ship to prevent the Illumidus from utilizing it and refuses to join them. Tochiro, Emereldas, and Miya help him fight the Illumidus in a harsh private war.
