The summer of 1984: On the cusp of Wichita Falls, Duane captained the high school football team and Jacy was homecoming queen 30 years ago. Oil prices are falling, banks are failing, and Duane is in debt to the tune of $12 million. Karla, his wife, drinks excessively, his children are constantly in trouble, and he tom-cats with the wives of friends. Jacy has returned to town after a brief acting career, a stint in Italy, and the death of her kid. Duane and Jacy's high school relationship is expected to revive.
