Jealousy causes Dr. Hohner (Karloff), theatrical physician at the Vienna Royal Theatre, to murder his mistress, a renowned singer. He is reminded of her by another young singer (Foster), and his old frenzy returns. Hohner will do anything to keep her from singing for anybody but him. En climax, the singer's fiancee (Bey) rushes to her aid.
