Ryan is a teenager who cannot talk. In this weird fantasy realm, Ryan meets his Grandpa Randolph (Armin Mueller-Stahl) and a gorgeous girl named Melanie (Hayden Panettiere). Ryan and Melanie learn to help each other with their issues, and they both realize the knowledge that elders like Grandpa Randolph can impart.
