A Victorian surgeon rescues a heavily disfigured person being mistreated by his"owner" as a side show freak. Behind his façade that was colossal, there's shown a person of wonderful intelligence and sensitivity. Primarily based on the real story of Joseph Merrick (called John Merrick in the picture ), a severely deformed person in 19th century London.
