Throughout maneuvers in the Pacific, the US Navy warship is caught in a storm Back in 1980. Enveloped by an odd green light, the boat passes through a vortex when they emerge, their communications are cut off. The boat's Captain sends out a patrol and the F 14 pilots are shocked to encounter vintage Japanese warplanes.
