Luther Heggs aspires to being a reporter for his smalltown paper. He gets his big break once the editor asks him to pay the night at the Simmons home that, twenty years before, was the site of a murder-suicide that is famous. Luther's report of the rampant, ghost ridden night in the home contributes Simmons to sue for libel, but with the aid of his friend Kelsey they determines exactly what happened.
